BLOGGING RULES
Division 5: A blog is short for web log or online journal. A blog is public domain. What that means is that anyone with an internet connection can read what you write. They can also respond to what you write. Because of this, there are some rules you must obey for safety and for etiquette. I will read this blog daily to check that all rules are being followed.
For Safety:
- Keep your, and other people's, personal details private. Never offer any personal information including your last name, contact information, home address, phone numbers, school's name, e-mail address, last names of friends or relatives, instant messaging names, age, or birth date.
- Assume what you publish on the Web is permanent. Anyone on the Internet can easily print out a blog or save it to a computer.
- No one wants or needs to know private details about your family life.
- No photographs of yourself or others should be posted unless they are group shot, without names, and you have cleared the photo with me first.
For Etiquette:
- ALL your posts should be positive, friendly and inoffensive; don't use them for slander or to attack others. That includes gossip. No gossip or negative posts about any other individuals, whether they are in our community or not. Remember, as soon as you post something it's hard to take it back!
- Avoid trying to "outdo" or compete with other bloggers; concentrate on your own ideas.
- Don't write in UPPER CASE: it is seen as shouting.
- No innapropriate words, phrases or pictures are to be posted. Keep your language appropriate, clean and free of any rudeness.
- Sign all your posts with only your first-name.
Above all: have fun!

1.) Give two reasons that Catherine enjoys going to occupational therapy with her mother Because sometimes Catherine and her mom will go to the park, shopping or down by the ocean and while David has therapy Catherine’s mom will read Harry Potter to Catherine.
ReplyDelete2.) Name one person with whom you enjoy spending quality time describe your fondest memory. Why is this time alone so special to you? I enjoy spending time my second cousins, because they are family that I don’t get to see very often. They are both very hysterical and enjoyable to be around. My fondest memory with them is when we went to wild play and went up to the red course which is the second highest course (60ft) except Ben, Bridget and I are all scared of heights my sister there for is 100% not scared of heights, so Ben, Bridget and I were all freaking out, but in the end it was very enjoyable!
3.) Who is Jason? Describe him. Jason is a disabled boy in a wheelchair who goes to the same place for therapy as David. Jason is also Catherine’s friend.
4.) In what ways does drawing help Catherine? What activities do you like to do in your spare time? Drawing helps Catherine because she can put down all her emotions openly yet people have no idea she is drawing her feelings. I like to play soccer, volleyball and do crafts in my spare time.
5.) Catherine’s says, “Mom doesn’t understand how not everyone is on David’s side.” What might it mean to be “on David’s side”? Why wouldn’t people be “on his side”? What Catherine means by that is people aren’t always nice to David, for instance they would bully or make fun of David. People aren’t “on David’s side” because he is autistic.
6.) On page 43, Catherine wonders how it would feel, “…to have to wait for someone to make a word before I could use it. And to have all my words lying out in the open, complete strangers able to walk by and see everything that mattered to me, without even knowing my name.” Imagine you were Jason. How would you feel? I would feel quit useless, unwanted and discarded because I wouldn’t be able to do any of the everyday tasks that over 80% of people can do and people always stare and think that my disease was contagious and would never hang out with me. I would get bullied a lot and would never be happy in my opinion.
7.) What fears does Catherine have when she is around Jason? Do you think her fears are reasonable? How might you help her to get over her fears if you were her friend? Catherine has a fear that people from school or friends will see her with Jason and laugh or make fun of them. I don’t think that her fears are 100% reasonable because her fears might make Jason feel bad and u shouldn’t be ashamed of hanging out with a friend. I would tell Catherine to face her fears and introduce Jason to everyone.

1.Catherine enjoys going with David because
ReplyDeletee he can see her friend Jason and sometimes her mom takes her down to the park or they go to the ocean to shop well David is at therapy.
2.I enjoy sending time with Kassie, she is my mom and dad ‘s friends daughter kass is 15 I enjoy time with her because she is like a cousin to me we both had a great time together at my Aunty Karens 50 birthday.
3.Jason is a boy who goes to therapy with David he is a good friend to Katherine Jason is in a wheel chair and cannot talk instead he uses cards that Katherine made for him.
4.drawing helps Katherine because she can draw and doodle about her emotions and feelings that she cant share with others she with never show her drawings to anyone.I like playing soccer and base ball.
5.To not be on Davids side would mean that they aren’t his friend or trustworthy for David to ever rely on.People might not be on his side because he is not like normal people they could get embarrassed around him David thinks differently.
6.I think if I was Jason I would feel left out of conversations, lonely when people reject me and happy that Katherine was in my life and supporting me.
7.Katherine is scared that Jason will find out that she sometimes she is worried that Christy will know that his boy (Jason)is in a wheel chair and can’t speak properly

ReplyDelete• Name one person with whom you enjoy spending quality time. Describe your fondest memory. Why is this time alone so special to you?

• What fears does Catherine have when she is around Jason? Do you think her fears are reasonable? How might you help her to get over her fears if you were her friend.
1. Reason 1# because Catherine gets to spent time with her mom. Reason 2# so she can look at the sea.
2. I love spending time with my big brother Wyler. We love playing video games together, and watching movies together. My fondest memory with Wyler is when he helped me up after I fell down a hill, and walked me home on his bike.
3. Jason is a very thoughtful boy, he has a communication book to speak to people. He also has a wheelchair. Jason is 13.
4. Drawing helps Catherine calm down. On my spare time I like playing games with my brother, drawing, playing outside riding my bike and going to the skate park with my skateboard.
5. I would feel like I’m not a person I would feel forgotten and sad.
6. When Catherine is around Jason
7. When Catherine is around Jason she fears that her friends will judge her because she is with Jason. No I do not think her fears are reasonable because in the first place she should have told the truth and then she would of never had this fear. I think that she should always tell the truth.

1. Catherine likes to go to the occupational therapy to see Jason and go to Elliot’s Antiques shop.
2. I love spending time with Jason because he is nice and nice to me and he always wanted a guitar so I bought a guitar for him.
3. Jason is a boy who goes to the same therapy as David who’s has a disease that makes him take speech therapy and the speech teacher yells at him because she thinks he’s deaf.
4.I think that Catherine takes art really seriously because she wants to be an artist, I like to play hockey, I also want to be a NHL player.
5.because David is autistic and is a little weird to people like one time Rayan was teasing David about a piece of gum
6. My whole life is sports so if I have to stay in a wheel chair for my whole life I would just be unhappy for that but to be Jason he takes this really seriously that only people that have the same disease would know how it would feel
7. Getting embarrassed her fears aren’t reasonable because she thinks the wost of every thing

Q• Do you have books that you like to read over and over?
ReplyDeleteA:Not really, but I do have one book that I’m reading right now that I think I will read over and over again.
Q• What is the best book you have ever read?
A:The current book I reading right now which is Red Queen. My sister read the book first and loved it so she got the second book called Glass Sword.
Q• Why has the author included Markus in the plot? Why do you think he punched Sal?
A:The author might have put Markus in the story to show that not all people who do bad things one time are all bad or not as smart. Markus might have punched Sal because he is jealous of Sal.
Q• We have learned a lot about Miranda’s mother. Would she make a good mother? What little details tell us so much about her?
A:I think Miranda’s mother would make a good mother because she is very helpful and never gives up. But when Miranda’s mother doesn’t like work she will “swipe” things so that tells me that when she doesn’t enjoy things or gets frustrated that she can do things that she might regret but other than that she seems like a pretty good mother to me.
