Grade 6s: you will be going to a presentation at the old Mount Benson School next week called hosted by WORK BC called Find Your Fit. It is about finding out what sorts of careers are out there, and perhaps finding an occupation that might interest you. This is part of the new curriculum. Many students leave school and don't have a clue what they want to do in life. Not you! Let's get started.
- Write your name on your handout in pencil.
- Read your Occupations of Interest handout cover to cover.
- Fill in Page 2.
- Click on this link and enter the occupation you are most interested in into the JOB TITLE search engine.
- Answer the questions on page 4 of your handout.
THEN: Post the details that you recorded on Page 4 of your handout. Copy and Paste the questions in italics from below and add your answers as you wrote them in your handout. COPS!!! Don't forget to check out other students' answers when you've posted.
Select one in-demand occupation from the list and write it the space below.
What are the general responsibilities of a person working in this occupation.
What are the essential skills required for this occupation?
What is the median salary in B.C. for this occupation?
What are the top regions in BC where the outlook for this occupation is promising?
